i-amtv showcases a new channel at Shanghai 3G Conference, Music Kampany is appointed as a representative and have announced a deal with Sony Connect.

Shanghai, China - Independent Asian Music TV ( i-amtv) , a new multi-platform music video channel for digital networks, showcased its channel at the International 3G Applications show in Shanghai today and signed a contract with Music Kampany for sole content acquisition and representation in Asia. The channel also announced SONY PSP Connect as a worldwide distribution partner.

i-amtv’s mission is simple: to bring the most exciting and essential elements of Asian independent music to 3G Cell phones, Personal Media Players, IPTV and Online Video networks. With an unwavering focus on the vanguards of Asian Independent Music, i-amtv will embrace a wide variety of musical genres and will unleash the music programming that can’t be found on MTV or other television channels. i-amtv is aimed at a young discerning digitally savvy music audience both inside and outside of Asia.

i-amtv also held the official signing ceremony to appoint Music Kampany as their sole representative in Asia today. “We chose Music Kampany as a partner because of their extensive experience in the Asian music scene and their wide array of connections across China, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan and Korea.” adds Mr. McCormack.

i-amtv's service will run as both a video-on-demand service and as a continuous channel; and will provide a constant change of selection in the best cutting-edge Asian indie music videos, complete with pictures and bios of all the acts. i-amtv will also provide a full range of real-tones, track downloads and wallpapers to compliment the video service.

“We have signed up with some of the best acts around,” adds Genervie, “such as IGO & Twisted Machine from China, An Id Signal from Hong Kong, Art Thomya from Thailand, Pop Shuvit & NAO from Malaysia, Firebrands from Singapore, Kou Chou Ching from Taiwan, and Suck Stuff from Korea, just to name a few. We expect to add exciting new acts every month.”

i-amtv also announced today that Sony Connect will be the first worldwide distribution partner for the channel. Sony Connect is Sony’s digital media platform for users to access and buy video and music content. The Sony Connect platform is available from a variety of Sony devices. The main focus of the initial deal will be the PSP (Playstation Portable).

The channel’s content will be available on Sony PSP via the website psp.connect.com and online service.

i-amtv is currently in discussions with other digital networks and mobile operators to take the i-amtv Channel to international territories, including North America and UK as well as Asian Markets, and they expect to make further announcements in the coming weeks.
