appeared on the screen. At that moment, they both agreed that they wanted to make music that was very simple but required a lot of effort on sound design. Therefore, they started a project named ‘The Save Par’. They made 50 CDs that were completely sold out at Fat Festival 3. After that, they thought that playing music with only 2 people wasn’t fun enough. So they started finding other members to join in the band. Aims recommended his friend from high school, Galib, to play bass. On the day that Aims and Yeah met Galib, he came with Bank, the trumpet player. Yeah thought it would be interesting to have a trumpeter in the band, so Bank became part of the band. After having 4 members, they started making a demo, which then led them to play in the show called “Live in a Day”, and they were able to show their songs on a big stage Now, here comes the story of the band’s name, they still had no idea about it but they needed it to label the demo CD. Out of nowhere, Bank came up with the word ‘Slur’ that he studied from his trumpet class. Everyone agreed on that name because it linked with a word in Thai which meant “the one who does silly and nonsensical things that made others shout the word ‘slur’ out loud”. That demo really gave SLUR a chance to play on “Live in a day #2”. Unfortunately, it rained and SLUR was stopped before they could get on stage, so that other famous bands could play. However, they were compensated by having their song featured in “A Day” album 3. Consequently, the song named “A Day” by SLUR, was the first song that the band has distributed. The second part of the band’s story, comes with new members. Yeah thought that only one guitarist wasn’t enough, so he started scouting for another guitarist to play the melody parts. He finally met Pae at a rehearsal studio. Impressed by his hairstyle not his skill, Yeah asked Pae to play with SLUR. After Pae listened to the band’s rehearsal at Galib’s house, he accepted Yeah’s invitation. Having Pae as a new guitarist, SLUR had a new practice studio, Pae’s house. Then another change has to be made; Galib had to work, so SLUR had to find another new member. A new bassist wasn’t that hard to find. After an auditioning two guys, Boo! was the third one who stepped into Pae’s house. After the previous two, the band agreed that Boo! was the new bassist. He had a fine rocker-look that was very hard to amongst the young adults in Thailand. Surprisingly, not only his looks suited the band’s expectations, his bass-playing skills were simply fantastic. Consequently, SLUR has the five lines up since then. After having all the members, SLUR practiced hard in order to make a good show in “Live in A Day 3”, which was postponed one from the last time when they were stopped before going up on stage. During that time, SLUR asked their friends to give them a chance to perform, mostly in the University party. They didn’t have a demo or a label, so it was hard for Slur to find a place to perform. Fortunately, they had many friends who were mostly their age, which was the third year in Universities. Thus they had many opportunities to perform. After “Live in a Day”, the band worked on a demo in order to get a label and be able to perform live more often. Eight song demos were done, complete with artwork and packaging. They sent this demo to three labels, one of them was Smallroom Records. On the day they sent the demo to Smallroom Records, they realized from the comments that their band wasn’t good enough quality-wise, even though they did their best in the style and idea. Therefore, Smallroom Records gave them a year to improve. During that gap period before launching the album, Slur was making more demo songs and sent them to Smallroom Records, almost 30 songs. Even before the album came out, Slur was known as a newcomer in the Thai indie scene, so they had opportunities to perform in many independent festivals such as Fat Fest, So-on, Panda and DudeSweet. Moreover, Smallroom took them on tour with other bands from the label. Slur’s performance in many shows made them one of the most interesting live band in Thailand. After a year, Slur had 11 good songs in hand, so they started recording the full album named Boo! which came from the name of the bassist. Intentionally, the band wanted the album’s name with neither meaning nor sense, so they agreed on the name of one of the members. Apparently, Boo! was the most powerful name compared to Aims, Bank, Pae and Yeah. On the 5th of October, Boo! was launched, full credit to Slur, ranged from the production to artwork. Slur was becoming one of the best newcomers in Thailand. They made hype in rock n’ roll kids, they won awards, they had a number one hit single, they’re on the cover of the magazines, they Rock!
